Why to Praise and Worship our only God ?
1] Destroys the Power of the Darkness
In 2 Chronicles 20, we see how God gave victory to Jehoshaphat. The three kingdoms of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir came to fight against Judah. On the day of battle, as mentioned in 2 Chronicles 20:21 - ERV that Jehoshaphat had the Temple singers stand up in their special clothes to praise the LORD. They marched in front of the army and sang, “Give thanks to the LORD! His faithful love will last forever.” And when they began to sing to the Lord and praise his name, armies of the three kingdoms were thrown into confusion and they killed each other. Without fighting the battle they were victorious just by praising and worshipping God.
2] Breaks down every Walls on Jericho in our life
As we see in Joshua 6 - 1 to 20, we see that on the seventh march around the wall, when the 7 trumpets were blown by 7 priests, people shouted a great shout and the Great Wall of Jericho fell down flat. In the same way, praise and worship will break all the walls built by our enemy and which is causing hindrances in our life
down to pieces.
3] Breaks every Chains and Bondages
In Acts 16 : 25 to 26, we see that Paul & Silas when they were in the prison, they just praised and worshipped God at midnight and suddenly there was a great earthquake and the foundation of the prison were shaken. The prison doors were opened and everyone’s bonds were unfastened. In the same way, when you find yourself in chains and bondages, when you find yourself entangled with unwanted relationships and not knowing what to do, just kneel down and look to the Lord and glorify his name and he will deliver you.
4] Destroys our Sufferings
In Acts 12 : 20 to 23, we see that Herod used to torment people. So on an appointed day the people shouted out together with a loud voice and the angel of the Lord struck the king because he didn’t give God the glory and he was eaten by worms. This shows that God will destroy all your sufferings and torments when you will believe in him and glorify his name.
5] Gives victory over everything that belongs to our enemy
When we look at the victory of Jehoshaphat over Moab and Ammon, we see that God not only gave Judah, victory over their enemy, he even gave them all the plunders and belongings of their enemies. Judah took three days to collect the plunder that belonged to their enemies. This is what our God is, awesome and worthy of all praises. He has already given us authority and victory over our enemies. We just need to praise his name for making Jesus victorious over death and also giving us victory over all sicknesses, sin, shame, guilt and evil.
6] He alone is worthy of all praises
He alone should be worshipped and glorified because he created us in his own image and in his own likeness through his son Jesus and filled us with his Holy Spirit. He sacrificed his only son for our sins. We are alive today even though being stiff necked and worst of all the sinners, just because of his grace, love and mercy. So we should glorify his name for he alone is the living God and we have no one except him.
How to Worship ?
1] Not Voice but the Heart
Jesus says in John 4 : 23 “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” God does not need an extra ordinary singer but he needs the one who will worship him with truth and with a pure heart. If you are even the worst of the bathroom singer, never mind, just praise and worship him, in the congregation to display his glory as a testimony and the one who looks down from heaven will surely lift us up. The scripture clearly says that before asking God, God himself will gives us because he knows what , how and when we need very well and so he will give it to us at the right time. Don’t lose your heart and hope, just believe in his name and praise his name. He needs a broken hearted so as to display his glory
2] Emptying ourself
Worship carries us in the presence of God. It brings down the glory of God on earth. So when going into the presence of God it is very important to forget who we are. Forget your position, pains and sorrows we carry. Just remember that we are his offsprings (Acts 17:29), we are the aroma of Christ before God, we are the heir of the Kingdom of God and co-heir with Christ and Jesus has accepted us as his brothers. Just loosen yourself and worship God forgetting where we are. We should cast out every bitterness, anger and envy we carry for people through prayer before worshipping. Because God is love (1 John 4:7 & 8) and we cannot go to God without love.
3] Go with the word
As we know that word of God is the weapon we have to destroy the kingdom of God. When we worship God with his word, remembering him about his promises and favour in our life mentioned in the scripture he becomes very attentive. It increases our faith. And with faith we can please God. So it is important to carry word in us before going into his presence and his word is Jesus.
4] Pray and worship
Prayer is not just asking God for our needs, it’s talking to God. When we pray, we carry the grace of God in us. Praying brings God near to us. As we look at the life of Moses, Daniel and all the other prophets, they spent more and more time in praying in the presence of God. David used to praise God seven times a Day.
“So before worshipping God, we need to seek his presence through prayer and authority through his word.”
Testimony
1] I was never a trained singer. During my teenager days, I was the laughing stock in the town because of my voice. I had a thin voice with no knowledge about music. So I was rejected by all wherever I went. I was not called for church choir's. Even my sunday school teacher's used to reject me and make me stand in the corner of last row. Wherever I went, whether in church, school, tution etc, people used to make fun of my voice. I used to kneel down before God and weep in bitterness everyday. And I used to just pray "Lord today this people are making fun of me. One day you will only bring glory on me through this people. You will only lift me up in their presence". And today I am here with a wide range of genre in my bucket. For man it is impossible but for God all things are possible. I never backed off. I used to worship God, pray and wait for the right time. However the Spirit of our Lord Jesus leads me, I sing and it touches the heart of all and brings merry in their heart. Let all glory be to our God.
2] I was feeling very lonely, depressed , helpless and downcast ( as I was jobless & alone). Being upset, I was not having food properly and I was unable to meditate on the word. While praying, I just asked God, “Father, I don’t want to be dead like this. I want to be happy and cheerful.” Then I felt in my heart “Just get on your knees and worship God”. I got on my knees and started worshipping God. I didn’t realise how 1hour passed by and by the end my sorrow was turned to joy and bitterness went off. My loneliness was turned to cheerfulness.
3] I was once down with severe cold, cough and fever a day before 1 Jan 2022 in Bengaluru. A night before 1st Jan, I just prayer to God, “Lord I want to worship you. I have been created to worship you Father. I down know how severe I am, I know only one thing, I want to worship you. I believe that you will surely heal me.” The next day my cold was reduced and no headache. I had fever only. Still I went to church. As soon as I stood on the altar for praising and worshipping, I got completely cured. I didn’t realise but I was standing on the altar for 3hours and we were singing on high pitch.

1] When prayer, reading word and worship becomes an habit, miracles becomes a habit.
2] Everything happens in our life with a purpose we just need to enquire God about it “What he wants to explain to us through this problem”
